Prospective Students

Abraham Lincoln University is an online distance learning institution specifically geared toward non-traditional college students. Working adults who hold full-time jobs generally cannot attend class during the day, and ALU’s programs provide non-traditional class options online.

There are many reasons to choose ALU for online distance learning. ALU is competitive with other schools in its demographic in terms of transferable credit—the University offers maximum transfer credit transfer to students who have previously earned credits toward a college degree.

ALU is unique in that it offers both an online law school and an online university providing practical diploma, associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Many schools focus on one or the other, but ALU has both, with each providing its own advantages.

Advantages of ALU School of Law

Abraham Lincoln University School of Law offers traditional legal curriculum in unique way. Students in ALU’s online distance learning Juris Doctor degree program are prepared to sit for the California State Bar exam with a class structure that takes into account the Bar’s rules for years of continuous study, with students progressing through a legal education over four years.

Advantages of ALU Diploma and Degree Programs

ALU’s diploma, associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs are even more flexible than the law degree program. Each program begins every Monday, for 52 starts a year. Courses run in eight-week sessions. Programs act as building blocks; you can begin in the diploma program for Criminal Justice, for example, complete that program, and decide to continue on to the associate and bachelor’s degrees as well.

In addition, paralegal and legal studies undergraduate programs can help students prepare for the flagship Juris Doctor degree.
